RINK Hockey Academy and HEADCHECK Health are proud to announce a new partnership to implement best-practice head injury protocols across all RINK Hockey Academy teams and locations. This collaboration ensures a consistent, technology-driven standard of care for every athlete.
The partnership will see the professionals at Testify Performance, the sport-science & performance division of RINK, use the HEADCHECK platform to manage the complete cycle of head injury management, from pre-participation requirements to baseline testing through initial assessment on the ice and the recovery process, to a safe and medically supervised return-to-play.
For parents and players, this means:
- Consistent Care: A clear, professional process for every bump, blow, or potential head injury, ensuring nothing is missed.
- Seamless Communication: Streamlined communication between staff, healthcare professionals, and parents throughout a player's recovery.
- Unified Safety: A single, gold-standard system replacing older methods, creating one seamless process for all players, regardless of which RINK location they call home.
“As we continue to grow, our commitment to safety must scale with us,” said Mike Hellyer, Director of Sports Science & Performance at RINK. “HEADCHECK gives our staff the best tools to execute our head injury protocols with clarity and consistency, and it gives parents the confidence that best practices are being followed every single time.”
HEADCHECK is trusted worldwide by professional organizations, including MLS and the CFL, as well as leading youth leagues like the BCHL and MJHL. The platform was built for one reason: consistently followed injury protocols are the most effective way to make sports safer.
"We are thrilled to partner with an industry leader like RINK Hockey Academy," said Harrison Brown, CEO of HEADCHECK Health. "Their proactive approach to implementing a standardized, technology-driven safety system across multiple locations ensures that player safety remains the top priority."
This partnership reinforces the shared mission of both organizations to keep athletes safe, having fun, and playing the game they love.
