McKiya earned her Bachelor of Human Kinetics at St. Francis Xavier University. It was during her time at RINK Hockey Academy, where she captained the RINK Female U18 teamduring its inaugural 2019-2020 season, that she truly discovered her passion for sports science and the gym. 

She went on to play four years of USports hockey at St. Francis Xavier University, continuing to develop as both an athlete and coach through the school’s Strength & Conditioning internship. Shaped by her own experiences with sport-related injuries, she is deeply passionate about helping athletes overcome setbacks, rebuild confidence, and return stronger. When she’s not in the gym, you’ll likely find her at the cottage or planning her next adventure!
